Mills College has been setting the standard for academic excellence since 1852. Mills joined Boston-based Northeastern University in 2022 to create something unique in higher education: a bicoastal university for undergraduate and graduate learning that leverages Mills’ strengths in equity, social justice, and women’s leadership and Northeastern’s mission in diverse and inclusive global experiential learning and research.
In addition to a full range of undergraduate and graduate degrees that will be offered by Mills College at Northeastern, we have created the Mills Institute to support curricular innovation, create a foundation for student success, and facilitate transformative learning, advocacy, and research.

Congratulations to our incredible Class of 2022! At our 134th Commencement, Mills College recognized the achievements of our students and conferred upon them the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of a Mills degree.

Hillman; Chair of the Board of Trustees Kathleen Sanborn ’83; senior student speaker LJ Miranda ’22; graduate student speaker Trinity Wilson MBA/MA ’22; and this year's Commencement speaker, Jesmyn Ward, MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient and two-time National Book Award winner.
